After a decade of serving as a school leader, Dr. Ryan King recognized a consistent reality. Meet Dr. Ryan King
Dr. Ryan King is a high school principal in Frankfort, Kentucky, with a doctorate in educational leadership and ten years of school leadership experience. He leads a full campus every single day, managing staff, supporting students, navigating district expectations, and building culture from the ground up.
He knows what it’s like to walk into your first day as the principal and realize that the job description didn’t capture half of what the role actually demands. He knows the 6 a.m. phone calls, the budget surprises, the difficult staff conversations, and the quiet moments where you ask yourself if you’re really cut out for this.
He also knows the other side, what it feels like when the work clicks. When the culture shifts. When a teacher you coached finally reaches their potential. When a struggling student turns a corner because of the environment you helped create. That feeling is what this work is about.
Through King Leadership Collaborative, Dr. King coaches first and second-year principals to close the gap between the leader they are today and the leader their school needs them to become, building the systems, clarity, and confidence that turn overwhelm into impact.
